POLYFOAM (polyethylene foam)
Planks or rolls that provide cushioning, which serves to absorb/avoid; vibration, compression and impacts. Its cushioning capacity is an excellent choice for packaging.
Insufoam. Also called expanded or extruded polystyrene (EPS, XPS), and is used in construction work for insulation and cushioning.
- Polystyrene foam can contain up to 95% air and is used for insulating houses, buildings, and industrial appliances. It is also used in food packaging, surfboards, automotive spare parts, and as a stabilization system for roads and constructions.
Uses and benefits about Polyfoam in the industry:
- Home Appliances: It is inert and does not react with other materials.
- Automotive Industry: Used for packaging and shipping auto parts.
- Electronic Devices: End caps with anti-static properties.
- Food Sector: Offers an excellent cost-benefit ratio compared to other materials, increasing the durability of transported food.
- Packaging and Wrapping: Acts as a barrier and protects the products from damage and deterioration.
- Expansion Joint: Used between concrete slabs to cushion or as separators/fasteners; also used in masonry, plastering, and/or finishing.
-
Insulating Properties: Non-absorbent, resistant to water and humidity, making it ideal for manufacturing boats, life jackets, water boards, recreational floats, swimming noodles, etc.
Uses and benefits about Insufoam in the industry:
- Construction: Used as an insulator for concrete blocks in buildings. Being filled with air bubbles, it is lightweight and resistant to moisture. It also serves as insulation for pipes and plumbing systems.
BENEFITS:
- Low Density: Lightweight products that are easy to transport.
- Moldable: Can be transformed into more complex products such as end caps, expansion joints, under-carpet padding, corners, etc.
- Inert: Highly resistant to corrosion and chemical agents.
- Electrical Insulation (Anti-static) & Thermal Applications.
- Versatility: Can be used in various industries, including agriculture, architecture, and aeronautics.
- Water, Impact, and Compression Resistance, among others.
- 100% Recyclable.
- Highly Durable.
- Due to its lack of capillarity and absorption, it is buoyant.
Applications:
- Boats or rafts
- Life jacket
- Floats
- Internal helmet protection
- Kneepads
- Elbow pads
- Containment of acids
- Packaging for food, detergents and cleaning products
